SAILORS’ HALL OF FAME

In our minds let’s wander back
Two thousand years or more
To the story of The Great One
Who stood there on the shore
He spoke to those whose cast their nets
And fished at Galilee
And to me He’s still The Master
Of all who sail the sea

In ages past and still today
Some hear the call to go
To sail out on the ocean waves
Where big waters roll
Some fish the seas, some sail their ships
And some our shores defend
And among them you will find as brave
As any’s ever been

Chorus
So in my heart there is a dream
I hope one day comes true
That we in thoughtfulness accord
A fitting tribute due
There’s some I know and I’m sure you too
So many we could name
And hope to see inscribed within
A Sailors’ Hall Of Fame

There is a memory I have
That means so much to me
When early in the morningtime
My Dad set out to sea
I’ve always been so proud of him
And I would be so glad
To send his name to the Hall of Fame
And say he is my Dad

So if two or three or more of us
Would try our best to start
Along the way we too might find
The help of other hearts
For together we could all do more
Than each of us alone
And a Sailors Hall Of Fame one day
Could truly find a home

Chorus
Yes in my heart there is a dream
I hope one day comes true
That we in thoughtfulness accord
A fitting tribute due
There’s some I know and I’m sure you too
So many we could name
And hope to see inscribed within
A Sailors’ Hall Of Fame

Chorus…

And a Sailors’ Hall Of Fame some day
Might be a dream come true.

… A Sailors’ Hall Of Fame

… A Sailors’ Hall Of Fame
